Working
with me is an enjoyable, stress-free process. Read on and
you’ll see what I mean.
Location?
Everywhere, U.S.A.!
I’m based in Austin, Texas, but I have clients in
multiple cities and can work with anyone in the U.S. with
an email account and a phone. I’m ready to be your
go-to writer, wherever you are!
What
First?
Getting started is easy. Just contact me with
your contact info and a brief description of your
writing needs, and within 24 hours I’ll respond
with an estimate of the cost and timeframe. (I usually
bill by the job instead of by the hour, so I have to
learn something about the assignment before I can quote
a price.)
Then you get a FREE initial consultation--by phone, email,
or in person--so we can discuss the writing job in detail,
learn more about each other, and decide whether I’m a
good fit for the job.
After the consultation, you’ll receive an emailed bid
letter outlining the terms we’ve discussed, and then
we’ll sign a contract that binds us to those terms.
Then you can relax, and I can start working!
Drafts
and Rewrites
I’ll email you a first draft of the copy in Microsoft
Word file (.doc) format for your review. If you love it,
great--we’re done! If you have changes you’d
like me to make, that’s great too. Send me your
comments and I’ll be happy to give you up to 2
rewrites, large or small, at no extra charge!
I make every effort to “nail” the job within
those 2 free rewrites. And I must be pretty good at it,
because I almost never get requests for additional tweaks.
But I do offer them, billable as a separate job, at a rate
of $50 per hour.
Please note that rewrites may include any amount of
additional or replacement text, but they do NOT include
“re-concepting” (starting over from scratch
with a completely new idea, theme, or approach). A
re-concept request must be initiated and billed as a new
job.
Payment
For jobs smaller than $500 I require full payment in
advance. Larger jobs may be split into two or more
segments, with subtotals payable on assignment of each
segment. I accept PayPal or company checks for all
transactions; company checks must “clear”
before work can proceed.
